The Assumption

Rue de l’Assomption begins at 2 Rue de la Fontaine and ends at Boulevard de Montmorency.

L’Assomption

This street, which from 1672 onward marked the boundary between the parishes of Auteuil and Passy, is the former Chemin des Tombereaux, so named in 1940 because it was used to transport products from the Auteuil tile factory.

Next came Rue des Tombereaux, a name it retained until 1854, when it was given its current name in honor of the convent of the Congregation of the Augustinian Sisters of the Assumption, founded around 1846.

The nuns then had the convent itself built.
